Diary of the Late Republic, #9
In the last few years, the Bruce Springsteen Archive and Center for American Music has been rapidly emerging as a major cultural institution in the music industry and American culture generally. Based at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey (where Springsteen wrote “Born to Run”), it will have a gleaming new $45 million facility that will include exhibition galleries and a theater slated to open in the spring of 2026. These days, the BSCAM is running a “Conversations with Our Curator” series, and at 7 p.m. on 4/18 it will feature yours truly talking about my recent books Bridge & Tunnel Boys as well as the third edition of Born in the U.S.A. It will be a zoom event free to the public. If you’d like to attend, use this link. I’d be glad to see you. Thanks.
